But rather than suffering in the 3C at Adams Park, as originally planned, these sides were fighting it out in the more much agreeable mid-20 temperatures of Dubai after this game was moved, for commercial reasons, to the grounds of the Emirates Palace Hotel.
Played in a specially erected 5,000-seat stadium, Karl Dickson crossed twice for the victors, with further efforts by George Lowe, Ceri Jones and Sam Smith ensuring a win that takes them to the top of Pool Four.
Quins' director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "On a day like today, when the conditions are like they are, you can get a few tries, which we did."
