Your support makes all the difference.Gavin Henson has ensured there will be yet more focus on Welsh rugby this season by agreeing to sign with Cardiff Blues. The Lion – who has become better known as a reality-show performer – will be unveiled in the capital today.
Henson held talks with his former side the Ospreys, although such reconciliation was never likely. Instead he has been enticed to the Blues by the prospect of playing in his favoured position, outside-half, as well as a salary believed to top £250,000.
This will be the latest comeback for Wales's forgotten superstar. The 29-year-old was selected in Wales's provisional World Cup squad in June and started in the 19-9 victory over England two months ago. But he sustained a wrist injury in that match and missed out on his nation's heroics in New Zealand.
The coach Warren Gatland remains a big fan of Henson, who spent a few months with Saracens, after negotiating his release from the Ospreys a year ago, citing "personal reasons" for seeking a move to a London club.
