From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Aviva Premiership champions Leicester Tigers will kick-off their title defence at home against Worcester Warriors as Dean Ryan makes his return to the top flight of English rugby.

The game was announced along with a full fixture list of the season ahead that has produced some mouth-watering ties at crucial stages of the season.

The traditional London double-header will feature on the opening weekend as London Irish meet Saracens at Twickenham followed by London Wasps clash with Harlequins.

Round five sees a repeat of last season’s Premiership final as the Tigers entertain Northampton Saints at Welford Road, with the return fixture taking place in round 18 following the conclusion of the RBS Six Nations.

Richard Cockerill’s side also meet League-toppers Saracens on the final day of the season in what could be a crucial battle in the hunt for a top-four finish.

Elsewhere, Exeter Chiefs and London Irish will look to take advantage of the Autumn International call-ups as Leicester and Saracens are certain to field depleted squads as the Southern Hemisphere nations take on their Northern Hemisphere counterparts.

Saints will meet Bath in the stand-out festive feature  in round 11, and Wasps are likely to move their round 20 clash with Gloucester to Twickenham in the traditional St Georges Day celebration.
