Never before have Cardiff played better under Alex Evans and never before have Swansea been put to the sword so dramatically. It all added up to spectacular entertainment and differing problems for the two clubs.
Cardiff are in the happy position of having to find ways to keep players happy within their squad - neither the Welsh captain, Jonathan Humphreys, nor the current Test scrum-half, Andy Moore, were in the side - while Swansea need to find some power for their front five.
Cardiff's seven-try haul ensured they took maximum bonus points from their victory, and that against one of the more serious contenders for their First Division title. They attacked with confidence and assurance from deep positions, always keeping the ball alive and working from a position of complete authority in the front five.
As much as the Cardiff front five laid the foundation for this impressive victory, the old midfield magic of Mark Ring also provided the catalyst for some breathtaking attacks.

n Warrington have again denied claims that Jonathan Davies is to quit the club and return to rugby union with Cardiff. The club's chief executive Graham Armstrong said yesterday: "There has been no approach to us directly. He's a Warrington player contracted until 1997 and we wish it to remain so."
