Rob Andrew, director of Newcastle, has strongly denied his club has made an offer to Phil Greening, the Gloucester and England A hooker. Greening was reported as saying he would stay with First Division Gloucester, despite an alleged offer of pounds 85,000 per year from Newcastle.

Dion Waller, the Wellington Hurricanes forward, has been suspended for one week after being cited for an incident in a Super-12 match against Queensland on Sunday.
