Rugby League: Gregory seeks repeat
ANDY GREGORY returns to Central Park for the first time since his move from Wigan to Salford via Leeds, hoping to add to his old club's troubles, writes Dave Hadfield. Gregory had an inspiring game in Salford's Regal Trophy defeat by Wigan in January. A repeat of that sort of form could increase Wigan's gloom tomorrow.
The Wigan coach, John Dorahy, who has been told that he must appear before the Rugby League's board of directors to explain his comments about Robin Whitfield's refereeing of their defeat by Wakefield Trinity on Wednesday, should be able to field a slightly stronger side against Salford.
Bob Lindner has made one significant decision for his first match as Oldham's player-coach by naming himself as a starter against Widnes. Lindner, who has taken over from Peter Tunks, started on the bench in the Challenge Cup defeat at Doncaster, but has now recovered from his back injury.
