Your support makes all the difference.GREAT BRITAIN'S amateur Young Lions achieved the first victory of their Australian tour when they beat Newcastle, the New South Wales side, 30-0 in front of more than 20,000 spectators in the rain-drenched Marathon Stadium.
The BARLA tourists raced to a 14-0 lead in the first 14 minutes, with tries from the captain, Phil Hepworth, and Paul Daniel, both converted by the man of the match, Jonathan Roper.
Craig Murdock and Roper then both scored tries in a two-minute burst, Roper converting one to make it 24-0 just before the interval.
The other points came in the last minute when Murdock went over for his second try and Roper took his points tally to 14 with the conversion.
The Lions' next game is against Australian Capital Territory in Queanbeyan on Wednesday.
