Your support makes all the difference.JOHN GALLAGHER, the former All Blacks rugby union full- back, could be on his way from Leeds to Salford, who tried unsuccessfully to sign him last season. They have now made a new bid for him.
Gallagher, touted as the best rugby player in either code when he joined Leeds in 1990, has played few first-team games since Doug Laughton took over as coach last season.
'The class is still there and I would be delighted to bring it out again,' the Salford coach, Kevin Tamati, said. He might be encouraged by his success with two other Leeds discards, David Young and Phil Ford.
Another New Zealand full- back, Morvin Edwards, the rugby league international, could be on his way to Oldham. Edwards has been pushed out at Leeds by the arrival today of Kevin Iro, who will play - a niggling ankle injury permitting - in Sunday's Championship match against Hull Kingston Rovers.
Oldham have had a vacancy on their import quota since Des Maea, another Kiwi, was injured in a car crash.
Leigh have appointed Dennis Ramsdale as caretaker coach following the resignation of Jim Crellin. The club's Tongan prop, Lee Hansen, has now been cleared to play after breaking his arm in May.
