Romania, led by Gina Gogean and Lavinia Milosovici, retained the women's team title at the world championships in Sabae, Japan yesterday. The Romanians moved into the lead after their second apparatus, the asymmetric bars. Despite the presence of the double world champion Shannon Miller, the United States slipped from second to third after the third rotation and ended up with the bronze medal. China took the team silver for the first time since 1981.
