I'm looking for a performance from my season handicap bet, Nick Heidfeld, who has been among the most consistent drivers, with four second places and points in five other races. Heidfeld races well in the rain so the pre-qualifying odds of 40-1 at Betfred appeal – £5 each-way.
Ascot has some fine racing today but Rainbow View (best price, 4-9) and Henrythenavigator (6-4) won't make us rich when winning their Group One races, even with a £10 win double. But in the totesport.com Challenge, Flipando (£5 ew at the sponsor's 33-1) might get me my vintage Scalextric on eBay if he replicates his second to Royal Oath in last year's Hunt Cup.
