Ellen Whitaker's hopes of taking the Horse of the Year Show Leading Showjumper of the Year crown were dashed last night in Birmingham when she had the final fence down in round one.
Six riders, three with single time faults, went through to the jump-off, and it was Essex-based Laura Renwick who landed the title on her eight-year-old Oz De Breve.
Last to go in the jump-off, they went clear in 47.59 seconds, relegating Tim Stockdale and his 2010 King George V Gold Cup winner Fresh Direct Kalico Bay to second spot on 49.25sec, while Jo Pay (Goodman for Fun II) finished third.
