Racing: Killer heads for Ascot
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

There had been a report that the "talking horse," one-time favourite for the 2,000 Guineas, had run his last race in Britain and was set for export to the United States.
But he was confirmed yesterday for the St James's Palace by Henry Cecil, his trainer, who will try the three-times beaten favourite in a visor. Cecil has withdrawn Enrique, the 2,000 Guineas and Irish 2,000 Guineas runner-up, who is set to be diverted to the following day's Jersey Stakes.
Godolphin will be represented by the unbeaten Aljabr, last season's leading European juvenile. With doubts about the participation of Kayf Tara, last year's winner, in the Gold Cup on Thursday, his Godolphin stablemate, Nedawi, was cut from 12-1 to 8-1 for the race by Coral yesterday.
ST JAMES'S PALACE STAKES (Royal Ascot, Tuesday): William Hill: 9-4 Sendawar, 5-1 Aljabr, 7-1 Mujahid, Orpen, 10-1 Mus-If, Slipstream, 11-1 Gold Academy, 14-1 Alrassaam, Exeat, Rhythm Band, 16-1 Killer Instinct, 20-1 Desaru, 25-1 Bertolini, 33-1 others
