Hurdling debutant BERUDE NOT TO, from a stable which has made a terrific start to the season, won both his NH Flat races with ease last term.
2.05: Crews Castle will lack nothing in experience, lining up for his ninth novice chase of the season. Josh Gifford reputedly thinks highly of CALL HOME, an impressive winner over hurdles last year who can make a winning start to his chasing career.
2.40: The Turnell stable star Storm Alert failed to live up to expectations after taking this race last season and may be best watched here. There should be little between Lackendara and OH SO GRUMPY on their recent Kempton form, but the Irish runner is a progressive type who can confirm the promise of a Punchestown victory over Thumbs Up last year.
NEWMARKET 1.35: ELA-ARISTOKRATI's Ascot run behind Eltish was no disgrace and his other form is the best on offer. Ihtiram is improving rapidly but this extreme distance for a juvenile may be too far for a son of Royal Academy.
2.10: Lap Of Luxury has disappointed on undulating terrain such as this in the past. Zafaaf is a nervous performer who requires some give in the ground, so TOP GUIDE, whose two starts have shown he has plenty of ability, may not face too stiff a task after an absence.
2.45: The juveniles meet the older horses on terms worse than weight for age but NIGHT HERO won in style on his debut and his experience can tell.
3.20: CELESTIAL CHOIR has progressed all season and can reverse placings with Chinour. She has the beating of Toujours Riviera on their form through Master Beveled.
WETHERBY 1.20: With Grange Brake handicapped to the hilt, SIR PETER LELY, who is on the same official mark as when last successful can take advantage. He is 9- 1 at Ladbrokes' morning odds.
1.50: After humping top weight in two handicaps, NEWTON POINT should be fit enough to take on the leading staying hurdlers. The luckless Avro Anson is the one to beat but ran disappointingly from a favourable handicap mark in the Cesarewitch.
2.25: Silver Wedge will be a short price to confirm his Flat-race superiority but GOLDEN HELLO, a decent handicapper on the level who is making his jumping debut, represents an each-way alternative.
3.00: The rapidly improving ANTONIN, 5-1 with Coral, can take advantage of the 8lb he receives from Barton Bank and Gold Cup third Young Hustler.
3.35: TOOGOOD TO BE TRUE put up some impressive performances in staying hurdles last season and can transfer successfully to fences. Tough Sweet Duke looks the danger.
