Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.MARLINGFORD: Made his seasonal reappearance at Kelso on Thursday where his fair hurdling form meant that he shouldered top weight of 12st on his chasing debut in a novice handicap. His 10-length second to Old Eros was a very creditable performance suggesting he will take to jumping fences and can do well in novice company. (Mrs J Jordan).
NATIVE PRIDE: Clouted the eighth fence in the valuable race for second-season chasers at Cheltenham on Friday. That failed to knock him out of the race but ended any prospect of him winning and he did well to keep with the pack until the turn for home. He should remain well handicapped and can pick up a valuable prize. (K Bailey).
ZETA'S LAD: Looked in need of the race, but remained in contention to the last fence and kept on strongly in Royal Athlete's race at Cheltenham on Saturday. His trainer expects him to be better than last season when he won five of his six races. (J Upson).
