KNOCK TO ENTER: hampered when coming to challenge in the Listed Doncaster Mile on the opening day of the turf season on the flat at Doncaster last Thursday. The gelding still managed to dead heat with Karinga Bay for third place, just over two lengths behind the winner Mellottie, and should be noted when dropped in class again. (M Williams).
TURTLE ROCK: attracted significant support in a field of 13 unraced juveniles for Doncaster's seller on Friday, starting favourite at 9-4, but was slowly away and took four furlongs to work out what was required. Stayed on with resolution inside the last but could still finish only third five lengths third to Best Kept Secret. Clearly capable of better. (S Norton).
WHEELER'S WONDER: just failed at Worcester last Monday, but acts well on the prevailing fast going and should put that to good use before the jump season's close. (B J Llewellyn).
