'If anything can beat him, I think it could be one of mine,' he said yesterday. 'Of the two, Bradbury Star is probably more likely to give The Fellow a race because he's certain to get the trip,' he said. 'Whereas we just don't know if Deep Sensation stays. But he has certainly got the class. How many others in the field could go with Waterloo Boy over two miles?'
Gifford has asked Richard Dunwoody to take the mount on whichever his stable jockey, Declan Murphy, rejects and Kim Bailey will employ Peter Scudamore on Kings Fountain, as Anthony Tory rides Docklands Express.

Today's racing is dependent on morning inspections. At Lingfield, where the going is heavy, officials will look at the course at 7am and more rain would place the fixture in severe jeopardy. Edinburgh, where the problem is frost, is also to be inspected at 7am. Milder weather is forecast.
