A. The most memorable occasion must be the classic 1991 Scottish Cup Final, when Tommy McLean's Motherwell defeated older brother Jim's Dundee United 4-3 after extra time.

A. On 15 January 1972, Tom McAnearney, the manager of Bury, faced his brother Jim, the manager of Rotherham, in a third round FA Cup tie. The tie went to a replay so they faced each other twice in nine days.
In 1971 I believe that father and son opposed each other when Fulham played Bristol Rovers, where Bill Dodgin Jnr and Bill Dodgin Snr were the respective managers.

A. During the 1973-74 season. Bobby Charlton's tenure at Preston North End overlapped with Jack Charlton's managership at Middlesbrough and the two sides met in the Second Division. For the record, Boro won both matches: 3-0 at Ayresome Park and 4-2 at Deepdale on their way to gaining promotion. Preston, however, were relegated.
