Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Teddington, leaders and semi-finalists, remain on course for the league and cup double but make no bones about the fact that their No 1 priority is to take their first National League title.
For the weekend's double header they welcome back the striker Peter Gibbons after injury, but will be without Tyrone Moore in midfield today against Canterbury; they will be at full strength for tomorrow's match against fourth-placed Guildford.
Conceding that last week's quarter final 1-0 cup win against Southgate was no great advert for the game, Teddington's manager, Neil Campling, commented: "Don't expect us to speculate unless we have to. We play to our strengths - solid at the back, solid in midfield but with Peter Gibbons back we may do a little more this weekend than rely on penalty corners."
Although Canterbury have upset several leading teams this season and Guildford are improving all the time, with three dangerous front runners supported by Ian Jennings, one of the best passers in the game, the expected two wins for Teddington this weekend could go a long way towards realising their first ambition.
Meanwhile, a point for Slough away at Cannock against First Personnel Sutton Coldfield tomorrow will give them the Women's Premier League title for the fourth time in its six-year history.
