Your support makes all the difference.Mongolian judo Olympic silver medallist Tuvshinbayar Naidan suffered a severe knee injury en route to the men's under-100kgs final last week, it has emerged.
The 26-year-old, who had won gold at the Beijing Games, may now be forced to retire due to the anterior cruciate problem which happened in his semi-final win over South Korea's Hwang Hee-tae and saw him hospitalised in London after the competition ended.
Russia's Tagir Khaibulaev won the final by an ippon score.
He said of his victory, which was watched by Premier Vladimir Putin: "I met the Olympic champion from the last Olympics. The final was easy somehow, maybe it just seems to me this way. I threw him quickly."
Britain's Gemma Gibbons revealed she had suffered a broken finger on the way to her silver medal, which was a first for Team GB's judokas since 2000 and then followed up by bronze from Karina Bryant.
