Australia rallied from a double-digit deficit to take a fourth quarter lead, but then handed the advantage back before Snell launched her stunning shot. France took control in the third quarter, with a Céline Dumerc three-pointer sparking a 10-0 run but Jenna O'Hea and Lauren Jackson had threes to bring it back to 52-51.
France appeared to have it won before Snell's half-court shot at the end. However, France edged overtime, Gomis making a three-point play to put them 70-67 ahead.
