A survivor of the 2005 suicide attacks on the London transport system has been included in Great Britain's sitting volleyball team for the Paralympics. Martine Wiltshire, then known as Martine Wright, lost both her legs in the attacks, which killed 52 commuters. She took up sports as part of her rehabilitation.

Jenny Meadows has had to pull out of this weekend's GB trials due to an ongoing Achilles problem, putting her hopes of running the 800m in London in jeopardy. The 31-year-old won bronze at both the 2009 World Championships and 2010 European Championships but has yet to run this year and may rely on the selectors' discretion for a place.
