British results from the Games

Swimming

Darren Mew qualifies third for the 100m breaststroke final and James Gibson joint fourth. The women's 4x100m free team finishes fifth in the final.

Robin Francis and Adrian Turner (400m ind med), Georgina Lee (100m 'fly), Adam Faulkner and Graeme Smith (400m free) fail to progress from the heats.

Sailing

Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield lead after the first two of 11 races in the 470 class. Ben Ainslie was fourth in his Finn but is disqualified from the second race, to slip to 19th overall. Shirley Robertson, Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb lie third in the Yngling class.

Rowing

Pinsent and Co win heat to qualify for fours semi-final. Matthew Wells and Matthew Langridge reach semis of double sculls, as do Rick Dunn and Tony Garbett in the pair. Sculler Ian Lawson heads for repechage. Women's pair Cath Bishop and Katherine Grainger go to the repechage, along with Sarah Winckless and Elise Laverick in double sculls.

Judo

Craig Fallon loses in second round of under-60kg class.

Shooting

Ian Peel (19th) and Ed Ling (22nd) misfire in men's trap.

Badminton

First-round wins for Kelly Morgan and Tracey Hallam (singles) and Robert Blair/ Natalie Munt (mixed doubles).

Cycling

Roger Hammond is seventh in the road race, Charles Wegelius and Stuart Dangerfield fail to complete the course.
