Your support makes all the difference.David Beckham hopes to play in the London 2012 Olympics for Team GB, even though he will be 37 by the time the tournament comes around.
The midfielder made his England debut in 1996 and has played in three World Cups and two European Championships, and travelled to the 2010 World Cup as a coach. He is keen to play in the Olympics staged in his home town. "I think it would be something that I'd like to be involved in, and I'd like to be involved as a player," Beckham said. "But we'll have to wait and see. That's a year away yet. So we'll see. I'll enjoy the rest of this season, you know we're only five games in."
Beckham is in the final year of a five-year contract with Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer. He said on Tuesday that it is possible that he may return to MLS when it expires. "Yeah, there's a chance," said the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder, who has enjoyed two loan spells at Milan during MLS off-seasons.
"I haven't made any decision about what I'm going to do after this year," he continued. "I think it's important that I just concentrate on my play this year. I feel fit, I feel good in games, I feel as if I'm performing well. I need to continue that and then in a few months I'll think about what I want to do at the end of the day."
