Belluti's time of 3min 31.92sec bettered the mark of 3.36.081, set by Rebecca Twigg, of the United States, last year in Bogota.
Michele Bartoli, of Italy, won the first World Cup race of his career yesterday, a solo victory in the 80th Tour of Flanders, finishing ahead of his MG-Technogym team-mate and compatriot, Fabio Baltado, and the Belgian Johan Museeuw, of Mapei GB, by nearly a minute. He took the lead after the pack caught Cedric Vasseur, the Frenchman who broke away 20 kilometres from the end. After struggling to establish a significant advantage, Vasseur was caught 10km from home on the gruelling, cobbled Wall of Geraardsbergen, the last climb of the 267km race.
