From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The 2020 NFL Draft was supposed to be held in Las Vegas, on a specially built stage over the Bellagio hotel’s famous water fountains.

But that plan had to be abandoned when the coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of sporting events and mass gatherings across the world.

Now, American football fans will have to make do with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announcing each pick in his basement.

It promises to be something of a strange spectacle, but no less exciting. More than 11m fans are still expected to watch the first ever virtual draft.

255 college players are poised to realise their dream of playing in the NFL, with the draft scheduled to take place across the next three days. Here is everything you need to know.

Where can I watch it?

In the UK, you can watch the NFL Draft 2020 on Sky Sports.

You can either watch it on Sky Sports Action or Main Event, or purchase a Now TV day pass, for £9.99.

Hardcore NFL fans can also subscribe to the NFL Game Pass.

What time is it?

The action will begin tonight on Sky Sports Action at 6pm.

But it will take much longer for the draft itself to get underway. Expect the first round to get underway around 1am, UK time.

On Friday, build-up again starts at 6pm. On Saturday, make that 5pm.

On both Friday and Saturday, coverage will also be shown on Main Event from midnight.
