Motorcycling: No wins but Yamaha stay ahead
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Defending champion Niall Mackenzie struggled to eighth and fourth in the double-header while Yamaha team-mate Chris Walker earned second and fifth places.
Reynolds on his Ducati hit a deep puddle while leading race one easily and Emmett took full advantage, slicing past Walker on the last lap after a spectacular duel on the slippery track. Kawasaki's Terry Rymer also timed his charge to perfection, grabbing third from Michael Rutter's Honda in the final mile.
Reynold's machine was repaired for race two, which he won by less than half a second. Tyre choice was critical on a drying surface. Emmett and Mackenzie were on intermediate instead of full wet weather tyres, and although Mackenzie fought back to beat Walker into fourth, Emmett could only finish sixth.
Honda's John Kocinski and Ducati's Pier-Francesco Chili won a race each in the fifth round of the World Superbike Championship at Monza yesterday.
