From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Ralf Schumacher says he would emulate his older brother Michael's return to Formula One if he receives a good offer.

Michael Schumacher, a record seven-times F1 champion, is making his comeback after three years in retirement to drive for Mercedes GP.

Ralf Schumacher, who retired in 2007, said racing against his brother was not that important but that he would seriously consider an offer to drive for a "competitive" team.

The 34-year-old driver's last team was Toyota. He won six races with Williams. Since leaving Formula One, Ralf Schumacher has been driving in the German Touring Cars series, without much success.

Michael Schumacher, who will turn 41 on Sunday, won a record 91 Grands Prix and is the series' most successful driver, holding several other milestones.

"Competing against Michael is not that important for me," Ralf told the German DPA news agency. "In any case, I would seriously consider an interesting and attractive offer to drive in a competitive Formula One team."
