Former Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson is set to take a new career path away from the beach after being appointed as a new motor racing team owner.
Anderson has become the team principal of new FIA GT outfit Race Alliance by Pamela Anderson, which is set to make its competitive debut this weekend in Slovakia.
The 46-year-old Canadian was due to take up the same role within the team last season, but plans to compete in the European Le Mans Series in an Aston Martin failed to take off.
Anderson’s driver line-up will consist of ex-Formula One driver Vitantonio Liuzzi, who raced for both Toro Rosso and Force India during his career, and Mathias Lauda, the son of three-time F1 world champion Niki, having learnt his trade in GP2 and A1 before spending four years in DTM which paved the way to a move to GT racing.
A spokesman for Race Alliance by Pamela Anderson told AUTOSPORT: “We want to make Race Alliance a recognisable name and have looked for the best drivers possible.
“The plan is to contest the full FIA GT Series next year, as well as the Nurburgring 24 Hours, and then look to NASCAR after that.”
