Nigel Mansell, the 1992 Formula One world champion, pilots his Ginetta Zytek in Le Mans at the weekend.

Sadly for Mansell, and his two team-mates, sons Leo and Greg, the 56-year-old spun into a barrier only 18 minutes into his debut at the famous 24-hour race.

After early concern the Briton was declared "fine" despite "a bump on the head". Audi claimed a podium clean sweep, taking advantage of the quicker Peugeots' unreliability, as Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas in the Audi R15 TDI claimed the team's ninth win in 11 years.
