From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Lewis Hamilton has pictured himself rocking a new look as he relaxes in the Caribbean.

The Mercedes driver, who currently leads the Formula One world championship 21 points ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg, is currently enjoying his mid-season break in Barbados.

With the drivers not racing again until 23 August, the 30-year-old has been on holiday in the mountains of Colorado, before heading to sunnier climes this week.

Taking to his Instagram account, the driver, who has become something of a style icon in recent years, posted his new look corn rows.

"Barbados, we ready!! #Islandlife #Carnival2015" he posted on the picture-sharing app.

But the look didn't go down well at all with users, with some even threatening that they were no longer his fans because of the dodgy braids.
