Your support makes all the difference.The FIA GT1 World Championship, the FIA's newest accredited world championship, makes it debut on British soil this coming weekend when the series becomes the first major championship to race on the new Silverstone circuit layout.
The series which features GT cars from Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford, Lamborghini, Maserati and Nissan, began in Abu Dhabi on April 17, and ends in Argentina in December. The championship consists of ten rounds with Silverstone being the first of the European rounds, and the second overall.
The Silverstone schedule for the championship will be as follows:
Friday April 30: 9:40 – 11:00 Free Practice, 14:40 – 16:00 Pre Qualifying
Saturday May 1: 10:45 – 11:45 Qualifying, 17:15 – 18:15 Race 1 (Qualifying Race)
Sunday May 2: 09:30 – 10:00 Warm Up, 15:15 – 16:15 Championship Race
The opening round of the championship in Abu Dhabi was won in sensational style by former Renault F1 pilot, Romain Grosjean and Thomas Mutsch driving a Ford GT, from Matech Racing, followed home by a pair of Corvette's from Phoenix Racing/Carsport.
