Given that he has not been seen on a football pitch since August last year, the former Liverpool and Newcastle defender has been asked more than once whether he has retired to become a full time TV pundit. In fact, the 33-year-old Southampton club captain is still hoping to make a comeback after undergoing surgery last winter on a back injury.
