Your support makes all the difference.Sheffield Wednesday recruited Northern Ireland's influential midfielder Jim Magilton from Southampton last night.
Magilton agreed a four-year contract with Wednesday after leaving Saints, where he rejected the chance to sign a new deal.
The Irishman will have his fee decided by a tribunal, with a figure likely to be close to pounds 1m. The Wednesday move makes up for the disappointment of missing out on a transfer to Celtic recently. Magilton will make his debut against Liverpool, the club where he was groomed as a teenager.
The influx of Australian players at Portsmouth continued yesterday with the sixth signing from "down under". Paul Harries, a striker and 19-year- old product of the New South Wales soccer academy, has been signed on a one-year contract after he impressed during a trial.
Another Australian, the international Mark Robinson, has joined Burnley for a trial period. The 20-year-old utility player recently spent a short time with Rangers.
Wolves have signed the former Nottingham Forest and Wimbledon goalkeeper Hans Segers on a contract until the end of the season.
