Lizzie Jelfs from Banbury has taken over from Claire Wood as Britain's highest-ranked player in the WTA rankings. Jelfs has risen from 273rd to 212th in the world. Wood has risen six places to 229nd, while Greg Rusedksi has climbed two places to 49 in the men's world rankings, with Jeremy Bates at 96.
Helen Kelesi, the 25-year-old former professional, is doing well after surgery to remove a large brain tumour.
