England won the Cricket World Cup after beating New Zealand in a thriller at Lord’s.
Eoin Morgan’s men survived the drama of a super over after New Zealand's 241-8 was matched by England with Mark Wood run out from the final ball of the innings. Ben Stokes, who scored 84 in the chase, then returned alongside Jos Buttler to hit 15 from six balls before Martin Guptill was run out in dramatic fashion handing the tournament hosts the win.

Guptill flicks the ball out to Jason Roy, he picks up and throws to Buttler.
Guptill comes back for the second but Buttler catches the ball and takes off the bails.
Guptill is run out and England win the World Cup!
The teams embrace, New Zealand are heartbroken.
It came down to the irony of Ben Stokes. Born in New Zealand, but won the World Cup with England.
Yes it has! 27 years since England's last attempt, 27 years of indifferent play, poor teams and disappointing campaigns but England have finally done it!
