John Daly, the Open champion, has withdrawn from the Canadian Open, which starts today. Daly, who has had only one week off since July, called the PGA Tour's office in Ponte Vedra, Florida and left a voice-mail message saying he would not play in the event. He has 14 days to explain his decision.
