In the Super 12, Gavin Lawless scored 50 points as Natal hammered Otago 75-43 in Durban. Northern Transvaal beat Queensland 14-3 in Pretoria and New South Wales lost 33-26 to Waikato in Sydney. Chester Williams, a member of South Africa's World Cup winning team, faces another year out after tearing cruciate ligaments in his left knee. "They say lightning doesn't strike twice but it does," said the 26-year-old wing who missed last season with a similar injury to his right knee.
