Your support makes all the difference.CARDIFF DEVILS' 14-game unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Humberside Seahawks, who beat the Welsh side 7-4 in the Heineken Premier Division at the weekend.
It was Seahawks' second win of the season at Cardiff. Devils were 2-0 up after 17 minutes but poor discipline saw them concede four power play goals and, despite drawing level twice, Dan Dorion's two goals in the last seven minutes sealed Seahawks' win.
Devils remain top of the Division, but Murrayfield Racers are hard on their heels, just two points behind after beating Fife Flyers 5-3 in the Scottish derby. Fife were hoping for better after a 4-3 victory over Durham Wasps, their first win in four years against the North-east side.
Dean Edmiston, back after two months out of with an injury, was Flyers' inspiration against Wasps, scoring the equalising goal and then the winner with seven minutes remaining.
When Wasps lose on a Saturday, somebody usually suffers the next day. This time it was Nottingham Panthers' turn who, with just under two minutes of the second period left, led 7-6.
A power cut prematurely ended the period. When the lights were restored, Wasps extinguished Panthers with eight goals in the third period, including a Damian Smith hat-trick in three minutes and two goals in 19 seconds from Rick Brebant, to win 14-8 and move from ninth to seventh in the table.
