Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

2.40: Derby entrant TUKANO can prevail in a field of inexperienced maidens. He has not run this season, but the form of his debut behind Classic Trial winner Linney Head has worked out well. Promising Newmarket second Lombardic looks the biggest danger.
3.10: Five of these are entered in the Derby and BROADWAY FLYER can underline his claims as a serious contender for the Blue Riband. The form of his runaway Newbury victory has been franked by the second, Wishing, who was rated within a few pounds of the best juveniles last season. Moonax is aiming for the Italian Derby rather than Epsom, but will take advantage if the selection is unsuited by the fast ground. Sieve Of Time just held Salsabil's full- brother Mokhtar in a maiden race at Newmarket's Craven meeting, but holes began appearing in the form when the third horse ran poorly on Saturday. The Flying Phantom, who was supplemented for the Derby, does not have a ghost of a chance on form. He has been beaten in a busy career by both Moonax and Mr Artistic.
3.40: DONTFORGET INSIGHT looked an improving horse with a convincing victory in a Doncaster maiden last season. He made an eye-catching debut this term when third at Newmarket last month and can take advantage of the 6lb he gets from another progressive horse, John Gosden's dual all- weather winner Mystic Eagle.
4.10: This would normally be a race in which to look for a Chester specialist, but only the wayward Modesto has won over the course. LOWAWATHA is more familiar with Lingfield than the Roodeye, but is rated 17lbs lower on turf than the all-weather and won well last time. Blue Blazer should improve on his Newbury Spring Handicap placing.
