Riddick Bowe and Jorge Luis Gonzalez continued their verbal sparring when they weighed in for tonight's World Organisation heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas.
"The lion is going to kill the hyena," said Gonzalez, the Cuban-born fighter who beat Bowe in the 1987 Pan American Games. Bowe, the former undisputed world heavyweight champion, said: "I was a little baby then. He's fighting a man now."
Gonzalez, who weighed in at 16st 13lb, has a record of 23-0 with 22 knockouts, but he has not faced the same quality of opposition as Bowe. The champion weighed in at 17st 5lb.
The Axel Schulz camp does not expect to get a return fight with International Federation champion George Foreman, despite a ruling to the contrary. "Money is behind it," said a representative.
