Holland on mark
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Pat Shanahan took over but the filly finished last behind the Coronation Stakes third Dance Design, completing a treble for Michael Kinane, Dermot Weld and owners Moyglare Stud Farms.
Kinane, seeking an elusive first victory in today's Irish Derby aboard Obsessive's stablemate Dr Massini, enjoyed the easiest of his three wins on the filly who beat Zafzala by a length and a half. The other English challengers Autumn Affair and Hagwah finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Dance Design, who followed her stablemates Star Profile and Peace Prize into the winner's enclosure, may now be aimed at the Irish Oaks following yesterday's success over a mile and a quarter.
"She's always been very decent. She's come on for her run in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and from Royal Ascot to here. She is extremely talented but whether she will stay a mile and a half, I don't know," said Weld.
