Your support makes all the difference.RICHARD JONES gave Wales the perfect start with a goal in two minutes from a penalty corner in their opening game in the Intercontinental Qualifying Tournament in Olten, Switzerland, yesterday, as they went on to beat Austria 6-2.
Guildford's David Knapp put them further ahead after 20 minutes for a 2-0 interval scoreline. The captain, Dave Hacker, and Knapp combined to set up Tony Colclough for Wales' third goal before weak marking allowed the Austrians to pull two goals back.
Ian Hughes-Rowlands got Wales going again in the 60th minute before a second goal from Colclough and one from his brother, Declan, celebrating his birthday, iced the cake for Wales.
Gordon Shepherd set Scotland on their way to a 4-0 win over Italy in the other half of the draw; Richard Freeman struck twice and Duncan Low scored the other goal.
The Egyptian international, Sammy Saleh, scored for Dulwich, the team from the former London League, in their 2-0 home win against Chichester as the merged London and South Peroni League got under way at the weekend. Simon Pugh added the second goal. Matthew Cook, aged 17, made a notable debut in Winchester's home game, scoring the goal that beat the London club Spencer 1-0.
