Yesterday in a fine all-round team performance Southgate knocked out the Cup holders, Teddington, with a 4-1 win.
Ipswich beat National League's Oxford Hawks 7-2 with Simon Miller scoring four, but the day's outstanding result was Canterbury's fight back with six goals in the closing 13 minutes to beat Guildford 10-5, having trailed 3-1 after 20 minutes. Danny Laslett scored four with Sean Kerly coming on to score twice in the final five minutes.
Slough, with Mandy Nicholls scoring twice, beat Trojans 6-3 to maintain their three-point lead over Ipswich who beat Sutton Coldfield 2-1.
In yesterday's Cup third-round holders Hightown beat non-League Hampstead and Westminster on a penalty shoot-out.
