From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

SLOUGH WILL start favourites to complete the first women's treble when they face Fyffes Leicester in tomorrow's Cup Final at the National Hockey Stadium in Milton Keynes. Already winners of the National Indoor and Outdoor League titles, they are keen to put their name in the record books, particularly following their disappointing performance in Europe at Easter.

The game could be won or lost in midfield, where Leicester's 17-year- old Helen Richardson has the task of shackling Sarah Kelleher, who notched up her 100th cap for Ireland last weekend. It will be her last game for Slough - and for their coach, John Shaw.

Although both sides are already qualified for European competition next season, Leicester's manager Kevin Blanks said yesterday: "We are upbeat about the result and very positive. We certainly want to go into Europe as Cup holders, not as Cup finalists."

A full-strength Slough will line up, in addition to Kelleher, with six of the England squad departing for Australia at the end of the month.

In the Plate, Deeside Ramblers are likely to crown a season in which they have won through to the National League by beating Bournemouth.
