Slough, the national champions, will be missing their leading goalscorer, Jane Smith, but will have Julia Robertson back on duty. Hightown, will be handicapped by the absence of Tina Cullen and Carolyn Reid and their coach, Maggie Souyave, all of whom are en route to Australia.
With games against Slough and Ipswich, also on maximum points, much will rest on the shoulders of the 20-year-old Denise Marston-Smith. The Clifton player guesting for Hightown scored six times in each of their opening games, against Doncaster and Olton.
