Hockey: Havant's Hill on the move
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.ROB HILL, the Somerset farmer, who scored six of Britain's 11 goals in their seven Olympic matches in Terrassa, and was heralded as one of the limited successes in the British squad, has decided to leave Havant, the club that did so much to establish his international reputation.
Next season, Hill, who surprisingly commented that Havant have nothing more to offer him, will play for Firebrands. Last season Firebrands finished 13th in the Pizza Express National League First Division; they are the club for whom Hill played indoors when he won his first England indoor cap in 1988.
Hill, who moved to Havant from Second Division Taunton Vale, has had two highly successful seasons with the Hampshire club, during which they have won two League titles. Havant have appointed David Faulkner, the former Great Britain captain, as player-coach and have strengthened their squad with the arrival of Matthew Cross from Bromley and Ian Patterson from relegated Bournemouth.
