Hockey: England bring in new faces
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The fixture coincides with an England indoor training weekend, preparing for the European Nations Cup at Crystal Palace in January. With the Olympic players Vicky Dixon, Tammy Miller and Jane Sixsmith resting and Jill Atkins still injured, several of England's Under-21 squad have been given the chance against an Australian side which includes Alyson Annan from the Barcelona Games and five other full internationals.
In the PizzaExpress National League tomorrow, East Grinstead should consolidate their position at the top. Grinstead's defence, containing the former Great Britain captains Robert Clift and Richard Leman, look sound and with the Dutch striker Bram Van Asselt back in the side they should prove too good for Neston at home.
Second-placed Southgate will be looking to improve their goal difference at the expense of struggling Surbiton, who, having conceded 13 goals in their three games so far, are finding the going tough in the First Division. A handful of goals could see Southgate sitting on top of the table tomorrow evening.
This afternoon, the Second Division leaders Richmond play Brooklands who have already made a significant impact on their arrival this year in the National League and with the Seoul gold medallist Martyn Grimley likely to be opposed by Steve Batchelor, Richmond's new player-coach, spectators at Teddington School could be in for an exciting afternoon.
