Double Dutch blow for English hopes
It was not England's day in the Volvo Masters Four Nations Junior Tournament in Vught yesterday, writes Brian Tatlock. Both teams went down to the Dutch on the final day, with the women losing 2-0 to finish in second place and the men losing 4-1 to miss out on a bronze medal. England's coach Mary Nevill will have taken great heart from the performance of her women's squad, however. England were less impressive in the men's encounter, where 20-year-old Bram Lomans scored two goals to leave England trailing 3-0 at half time. England reduced the lead through Stuart Humphries in the 48th minute, but the revival was short-lived, and Jochem Haverman slipped in for their fourth after 61 minutes.
