England’s Georgia Hall, Charley Hull and Bronte Law were three shots off the pace after the first round of the ANA Inspiration tournament at Rancho Mirage, California.

The trio shot three-under 69s to be in a share of eighth place behind Thailand’s Patty Tavatanakit, who birdied four of the last six holes for a 66.

Ireland’s Leona Maguire was one stroke off the lead after carding six birdies to one bogey to share second with China’s Feng Shanshan, with four players a shot further back at four-under.

Hall had a blemish-free round in which she birdied the fourth, 13th and the par-five 18th.

Hull cancelled a birdie on the second with a bogey on the third before recovering with birdies at 11 and 18, while Law was three-under after six before atoning for a bogey six at the ninth with a birdie three on 15.
