Sutton stays ahead

Mandy Sutton, who shot a fine 63 in the opening round, added a 68 for a seven-under-par 131 to keep the lead after the second round of the 54- hole Estoril Open in Portugal yesterday. Sutton, 33, from Worksop, who gave up a banking career to play golf six years ago, has won only pounds 7,045 in her first two years on the American Express Tour. But she will have a pounds 13,500 winner's jackpot in her sights when she starts out in the final round today one stroke clear of Denmark's Karina Orum. Lancashire's Lora Fairclough is one stroke further behind alongside Marie-Therese Pistolet from France.
